Certificates
In its ongoing focus on optimal quality, CBS Concrete has worked towards achieving a number of certifications. These include:
NL BSB Product Certificate for ‘Prefabricated elements made of concrete’, K26806, on 15 March 2003;
KOMO Certificate, including a Product Certificate for ‘Construction elements made of concrete’, K42894, on 1 January 2009;
KOMO Certificate, including a Product Certificate for ‘Agricultural concrete products’, K42673
We're currently working on acquiring a KOMO Certificate that includes a Product Certificate for ‘Manure basins’.
The KOMO Certificate is a quality certificate that has been registered in the EU, which is used in the Netherlands for construction materials, building products, working processes and services in the construction industry. KOMO examines whether specific products fulfil legally required performance standards and definitions. KOMO also evaluates the quality assurance system.
Controls
A thorough control is necessary, for being able to fulfil all requirements. CBS Concrete disposes of its own laboratory for this purpose, where a number of tests are carried out under the responsibility of the Quality Assurance Manager (a graduated concrete technician), such as pressure tests, plasticity tests, the Abrams cone test etc. That is how CBS Concrete can always guarantee a uniform and high-quality concrete mixture. CBS Concrete also works with an external laboratory, for the purpose of maintaining and further optimising the quality of its product.
The highly modern and automated concrete plant guarantees top-level concrete quality. Our concrete plant offers CBS Concrete the possibility of producing self-compacting concrete (SCC) with a low water-cement factor and extremely low water absorption.
These aspects assure that a very high level of acid resistance is achieved, which substantially increases the operating life of the concrete elements.
Furthermore, the quality assurance manager also checks the dimensions and the look of the concrete elements, so that appropriate measures can be quickly taken in the event of deficiencies in the formworks.
